UAE weather: Thick fog engulfs Dubai, Abu Dhabi; red alert issued
Drivers urged to follow speed limits and maintain safe distances

DUBAI: Thick fog enveloped key parts of the UAE on Tuesday morning, significantly reducing visibility and prompting red and yellow alerts from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Motorists across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain faced hazardous driving conditions as authorities urged caution on major highways.
Abu Dhabi Police and Sharjah Police have issued advisories reminding drivers to maintain safe distances, reduce speeds, and adhere to updated speed limits displayed on electronic road signs.
Visibility in certain areas, including Al Ain – Abu Dhabi Road and Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road, was significantly impacted, with conditions expected to persist until 9AM.
UAE weather conditions
According to the NCM, the UAE will experience fair to partly cloudy weather throughout the day. Clouds are expected to form over eastern regions by the afternoon. Light to moderate winds will blow from the southwesterly to northwesterly directions, reaching speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, occasionally gusting up to 35 km/h.
The sea is forecast to remain calm with slight conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Meanwhile, temperatures will vary across the country, with highs of 33°C in internal areas, 30°C in coastal regions, and a cooler 9°C in mountainous areas.
Humidity on the rise
As night falls, humidity levels will increase along coastal and northern regions, persisting into Wednesday morning.
This comes after parts of Dubai experienced light to moderate rainfall on Monday, offering brief relief from the rising temperatures observed in recent weeks.
